Terms & Conditions
Last updated August 12, 2026
These Terms are long and specific on purpose — running a business on AnkaadiX means trusting us with real sales data, real customer credit balances, and your day-to-day operations, and we think you deserve a clear, complete explanation of the deal, not boilerplate. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and AnkaadiX ("AnkaadiX", "we", "us", or "our") and govern your access to and use of the AnkaadiX Android application, the AnkaadiX admin dashboard, and this website (together, the "Service").
By registering an account, signing in, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that business, and "you" refers to that business as well as to you personally. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect data, and which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. The Service
AnkaadiX is a multi-business management platform built for supermarkets, grocery stores, pharmacies, clinics, mobile phone shops, showrooms, and similar small businesses. Through a single login, it lets a business owner ("Customer") and their staff ("Employee"):
- Run point-of-sale checkout, including offline sales that sync automatically once reconnected.
- Manage inventory — product names, prices, and stock levels.
- Issue invoices with optional discounts and tax, and print or share receipts.
- Track customer credit/loan balances and repayments.
- Grant staff access with fine-grained, per-Business permissions.
- Connect a Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi receipt printer.
- View built-in reports such as daily sales summaries.
The Service consists of a native Android application used day-to-day on the shop floor, and a web-based admin dashboard used by AnkaadiX to onboard Customers, activate Businesses, and provide support. AnkaadiX may, at its discretion, extend the Service to additional platforms in the future; where it does, these Terms will apply to those platforms as well unless we state otherwise.
3. Eligibility and account types
The Service has three account types, each governed by these Terms in different ways:
- Customer accounts are created directly by the individual signing up (with email verification), or on their behalf by an AnkaadiX platform administrator during onboarding. A Customer owns and manages one or more Businesses, and is responsible for the Employees they add and the permissions they grant those Employees.
- Employee accounts are created by a Customer, or by AnkaadiX on that Customer's behalf, for that Customer's staff. An Employee's access to any given Business, and which parts of the app they can use, is entirely controlled by the Customer through the permissions the Customer grants. An Employee's use of the Service is on behalf of, and at the direction of, the Customer who added them.
- Platform administrator accounts belong to AnkaadiX and are used to onboard Customers, activate and deactivate Businesses, manage the taxonomy of business types and staff-access categories, and provide support. Platform administrators act on AnkaadiX's behalf, not as a party bound by these Terms in the same way a Customer or Employee is.
You must be old enough to lawfully enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction. The Service is intended for business use, not for personal, household, or consumer purposes, and you agree to use it accordingly.
4. Account registration, credentials, and security
4.1 Accurate information
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering an account or a Business profile, and to keep that information up to date — for example, updating a phone number or address if it changes, so notifications and correspondence reach you.
4.2 Password and credential responsibility
You are responsible for keeping your password and login credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account — including any action taken by an Employee a Customer has granted access to. You agree to notify us immediately at the contact details in section 22 if you suspect unauthorized access to your account or a security breach.
4.3 Single active session per account
For your security, an AnkaadiX account (Customer or Employee) can only be signed in on one device at a time. If you attempt to sign in on a new device while a session is already active elsewhere, the new sign-in attempt will be rejected until the existing session is signed out. This is designed to reduce the risk that a lost, stolen, or otherwise compromised device — or a leaked password — can be used to access your account simultaneously with you. If you lose access to the device where your session is active and cannot sign it out yourself, contact us for assistance.
4.4 Employee accounts are managed by the Customer
An Employee account is created, permissioned, suspended, or removed by the Customer who added it (or, on that Customer's behalf, by AnkaadiX). An Employee does not have a self-service way to change their own permissions or delete their own account within the app — this is a deliberate design so that a Customer retains control over who can act on behalf of their Business.
5. Business activation and subscription
5.1 Activation periods
A Business must be activated by AnkaadiX before it can be used to process sales. Activation is granted for a period agreed with you — for example, one month, one year, or until a specific date — as part of your commercial arrangement with AnkaadiX.
5.2 Effect of a lapsed activation
If a Business's activation period lapses without renewal, the Business becomes inactive: it cannot be entered on the app or used for checkout until it is reactivated. Data already recorded against that Business — inventory, invoices, customer/loan records, staff assignments — is preserved during this inactive period and becomes available again once the Business is reactivated. We do not delete a Business's data merely because its activation has lapsed; deletion is instead governed by the retention terms in our Privacy Policy.
5.3 Employee limits per Business
A Customer may set, and AnkaadiX may adjust, a limit on how many Employees can be assigned to a given Business at one time. Attempting to assign more Employees to a Business than its configured limit allows will be rejected by the Service; you would need to either remove an existing assignment or request a higher limit.
5.4 Fees, billing, and renewal
Pricing, billing, and renewal arrangements for Business activation are agreed directly between you and AnkaadiX outside of the app or dashboard itself (for example, by phone or email), and are not processed as an in-app purchase or in-app subscription. These Terms govern your use of the Service; the specific commercial terms of your activation arrangement (price, payment method, and renewal cadence) are as separately agreed between you and AnkaadiX and are not restated here.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to permit any Employee or other person acting through your account to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a manner that violates any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to access, probe, interfere with, or disrupt another Customer's or Business's data, or the Service's security, authentication, or access-control mechanisms — including attempting to bypass the single-device sign-in restriction described in section 4.3.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the app or dashboard, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits this despite the restriction.
- Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code, or use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access the Service outside of its intended user interfaces.
- Misrepresent your identity, or your authority to act on behalf of a Business or Customer.
- Use the Service to store or process personal data you do not have a legal right to hold — including a third party's personal data collected without an appropriate legal basis or notice.
- Resell, sublicense, white-label, or otherwise make the Service available to others as if it were your own product, without our prior written consent.
- Interfere with another user's use and enjoyment of the Service.
We may investigate suspected violations of this section and take appropriate action, including warning you, suspending or terminating access, or, where warranted, reporting conduct to law enforcement, as described further in section 13.
7. Ownership of your data; license you grant us
7.1 You own your data
As between you and AnkaadiX, you retain all ownership rights in the data you or your Employees enter into the Service — including inventory records, invoices, customer names and phone numbers, and loan/credit records ("Your Data"). AnkaadiX does not claim ownership of Your Data.
7.2 The license you grant us
You grant AnkaadiX a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, back up, and display Your Data solely as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and support the Service to you, to generate the reports you request, and otherwise as described in our Privacy Policy. This license ends when Your Data is deleted in accordance with our retention practices, except to the extent a copy persists in routine backups for a limited period before being purged in the ordinary course.
7.3 Your responsibility for accuracy and legality
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of Your Data — including ensuring you have any consent, notice, or other legal basis required to record a customer's name and phone number against a credit/loan sale, and for the accuracy of loan balances and repayments you record. AnkaadiX is not a party to, and has no responsibility for, the underlying commercial transactions between you and your own customers, or for disputes arising from them.
7.4 End-customer data you record
Where you record information about your own end customers (such as a buyer's phone number on a loan), AnkaadiX processes that information on your behalf and instructions, as described in section 3.3 of our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the right to provide this information to AnkaadiX for processing as part of the Service.
8. Offline functionality and data syncing
A core feature of the app is that checkout keeps working without an internet connection: it caches your product catalog on the device and queues any sale made while offline, then automatically and idempotently uploads it once connectivity is restored — designed so a retried sync never creates a duplicate invoice or double-counts stock. You acknowledge and agree that data entered offline is not backed up to our servers until it successfully syncs, and could be lost if the app is uninstalled, the device is reset, storage is cleared, or the device is otherwise lost or damaged before that sync completes. We recommend syncing promptly when connectivity is available, especially before a device change, factory reset, or app reinstall.
9. Third-party services, hardware, and integrations
The app can connect to Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi receipt printers that you choose to pair, and can hand off a receipt to other apps already installed on your device — such as WhatsApp, SMS, or a general share sheet — so you can send it to a customer. AnkaadiX is not responsible for the availability, performance, compatibility, or behavior of third-party hardware (such as your printer) or third-party apps (such as WhatsApp) that you choose to use alongside the Service, and any issue with those products is between you and their respective providers. The Service also relies on Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications, as described in our Privacy Policy; that integration is necessary for notification delivery and is not something you can substitute independently within the app.
10. Reports and analytics
The Service's built-in reports (such as daily sales summaries) are calculated automatically from the inventory, invoice, and loan data already stored for your Business. They are provided for your convenience and informational purposes only, and their accuracy depends entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the underlying data you and your staff have entered. AnkaadiX does not audit, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of Your Data or of any report generated from it, and you should independently verify any figure you rely on for accounting, tax, or other formal purposes.
11. Intellectual property
The Service — including its underlying software, design, user interface, logos, and the "AnkaadiX" name and mark — is owned by AnkaadiX or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited, revocable right to access and use the Service as intended under these Terms, nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Service, its source code, or its underlying technology, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved by AnkaadiX.
12. Feedback
If you choose to send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant AnkaadiX a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any purpose, including improving the Service, without any obligation to compensate you or attribute the feedback to you.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms (including the acceptable-use rules in section 6), if required to comply with applicable law or a valid legal request, or if continued access poses a security or operational risk to the Service or to other users. Where practical, we will provide notice before or promptly after taking such action, and, for less severe issues, an opportunity to remedy the problem first.
You may stop using the Service at any time. A Customer may also request that we deactivate a specific Business, or delete a Customer or Employee account entirely, subject to the data-retention terms in our Privacy Policy. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any fees already paid for activation, except where required by applicable law or separately agreed with AnkaadiX.
Sections that by their nature ought to survive the end of your access to the Service — including sections 7, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 19 — will continue to apply after termination.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, except to the extent such warranties cannot be lawfully excluded. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that any defect will be corrected, or that the Service will meet every requirement of your particular business. You use the Service, including any report it generates, at your own discretion and risk, and remain responsible for exercising independent business judgment.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will AnkaadiX be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service, whether based on contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the extent any liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, AnkaadiX's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service — for all claims in the aggregate — will not exceed the amount, if any, you actually paid to AnkaadiX for use of the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation applies regardless of the number of claims or the theory of liability, and is a fundamental basis of the bargain between you and AnkaadiX.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold AnkaadiX and its officers, employees, and agents harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your misuse of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) Your Data, including any claim that it infringes a third party's rights or violates applicable law; or (d) your violation of any right of a third party, including your own end customers — except, in each case, to the extent caused by AnkaadiX's own breach of these Terms or of applicable law.
17. Changes to the Service
We may add, change, deprecate, or remove features of the Service from time to time as it continues to develop, and we will make reasonable efforts to preserve the core functionality you rely on and to communicate significant changes. We are not obligated to maintain, support, or continue offering any specific feature indefinitely.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, our business practices, or applicable law. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do, and, for material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you — for example, through an in-app or dashboard notice. Continuing to use the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and may request account deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.
19. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service, are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where applicable local consumer-protection law requires otherwise for consumers in a particular jurisdiction.
Before starting any formal proceeding, we encourage you to contact us first, using the details in section 22, so we can try to resolve the dispute informally — most concerns can be sorted out this way faster than through a formal process. If an informal resolution is not possible, any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Sri Lanka, except where applicable law requires a different forum.
20. Force majeure
Neither party will be liable for any failure or delay in performance to the extent caused by circumstances beyond that party's reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, power or internet infrastructure outages, or failures of a third-party service the Service depends on (such as our cloud hosting or Firebase Cloud Messaging).
21. General provisions
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision will be interpreted to best reflect its original intent.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms, by operation of law or otherwise, without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
- Relationship of the parties. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship between you and AnkaadiX. Your Employees are your own staff, not AnkaadiX's.
- Notices. We may provide notices to you by email, through the app or dashboard, or by posting on this website. You should keep your contact information current so notices reach you.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any specific written agreement between you and AnkaadiX regarding Business activation, constitute the entire agreement between you and AnkaadiX regarding the Service, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings on the same subject.
